Halo braid

I absolutely love this trend and is one I've been rocking even before it spread like wildfire on the catwalk. I think this hairstyle is perfect for those days where you hair is lacking that ompf and you don't have time to straighten or curl. This look is something I think is stylish yet looks effortless especially if you do it messy which is how I do mine.

What creative people do differently

I was recently reading an article the other day that came up on my twitter news feed and it really inspired me and made me feel good about myself so I thought if share it with fellow bloggers.

This article talks about what creative people do differently to other people. Whether that be artists, writers, dancers ext it highlights things we do differently without realising. Whilst reading the article it made me realise that the majority of the things they list is what I do and assumed everyone else did as well.

If you consider yourself as a creative person which I'm sure you are if your reading this then I think you'd find the article as interesting as I do.

Whilst growing up I new I wasn't as academic as most of my friends and with a unusual learning disorder I always felt like I was looked down upon in society. I managed to get through school with average grades in subjects like English an maths however always excelling in drama, art and PE. Even though my parents encouraged me that this was a good thing I always felt like other teachers and students looked down upon us creative students and classed us a 'dumb'.

However as I've grown up I have realised many people would kill to have the talents us creative people have and to see the world the way we do.

Reading this article really reminded me of this and encouraged me to think like this again. Some of the most successful people in the world failed at school however think outside the box and have  achieved way more than some of their A* counterparts. Don't get me wrong I would still love to be academic and not have to put in extra hours at college just to get an average grade but now I have learnt that I should be great full of my artistic abilities.

Hope this has given you some inspiration for you weekend

The cutest pair of shoes ever!

I recently went on a mad one online shopping and came across these shoes on Office.com. I remembered that blogger and youtuber Zoella showed them in one of her videos a while back and couldn't resist not having a pair. This same style came in burgundy and a matte black but I decided I liked the patent school shoe look of these ones so decided to go for shinny black. I just thought these would look adorable with frilly socks (like in the photo) and for around £40 I just had to have them.

I have to admit there were a bit uncomfortable when I first wore them however because their patient I new they would take time to break in. I have worn them a few times now and their really comfy and have fast become my favourite shoes. I have also had a lot of compliments on them as well so I know the school shoe resemblance isn't enough to put other people off.

The other day i just so happened to be looking on the boohoo website and couldn't help myself so had to buy something. I love boohoo so much because it really is trends on small prices and when your a student like me this is a must!

Also i seem to have gotten into a black theme because it wasn't until the delivery arrived that i realised everything i'd bought is a bit gothic but oh well black goes with everything!

Lucy loose knit batwing cardigan £12
Leanne lace insert t-shirt dress £15

Lace on the shoulders of the dress

Suzie strappy skater dress £8
I thought this dress was a great all year round dress as it can be worn with tights or bare legged and can be dressed up or down. I definitely think this is a staple that should be in every girls wardrobe.

Barbados

Recently i was fortunate enough to go on holiday to the Caribbean island of Barbados and had an amazing time. I was so sad to leave and was definitely one of the most beautiful countries i have ever been to.

We stayed on the east side of the island about five minutes away from sandy lane where Rihanna and Simon Cowell stay. The hotel we stayed in had such a lovely relaxing atmosphere and has it's own beach so you had the option of the pool and sea. I can honestly say after going on holiday when it's home time I usually feel ready to leave however here i just wanted to stay for a month and the thought of the british rain was so depressing.

The weather was amazing as well for a number of reasons. Every day the temperature was in the thirties however there were a few clouds which was nice to break up the soaring heat. I also burn quite easily so it was quite nice to have a break every now and then. One day it did rain for about ten minute but the beauty of Barbados is after the rain has gone it's boiling again and the only reminder of it is a rainbow.

Whilst we were there we went on a few trip around the island. The first trip we did was a day trip to a sugar plantation followed by a trip to the nature park and botanic gardens. This day was great as it was incredible to see into the history of the island and what it has to offer. The next trip we went on was a boat trip where you could snorkel and see the sea turtles. The day was brilliant and really made you feel a  million miles away from the UK.

Here are some photos i took:

Barbados is such a beautiful island and is one i can definitely see myself returning to again and again. It was such a lovely experience and one i am so grateful for.
